    Must have diaper shell!
As someone new to cloth diapering, finding the right one can be overwhelming. These diapers are a must have! I use them for my toddler, who is 21 months old. So I can’t share how they fit babies. But to give an idea for older tots, here’s what I have to say.Used for? 21 month old BOY, weighs approximately 28lbsForgive me now, I don’t know all the lingo for cloth diapering.PROS:1. Many sizing options. My son is a little on the tall side, not overly tall, but tall none the less. I can either button down one level, or just use it on the largest size. Really depends how lazy I’m being.2. Waist size options! My goodness this sucker can snap for slender babies and chunky babies alike. The waist flaps even snap onto each other for small babies. There is also the option of the extra hip snap. I have another CD and it works, but only offers a minimal hip snap. These diapers offer the extra hip/leg snap all the way across, same amount as the waist! This is AMAZING!3. Leg gussets? I think that’s what it is called. It offers 2 layers of elastic around the legs. The inner, and the outside. I love this feature, as it offers more leak resistance. And really holds things in (we had one explosive diaper I’m fairly certain would have been a disaster in any of my other diapers)4. You can use any style insert in it, including the snap type. If you look at my photos, I’m pointing to a snap. That is for the inside, to allow you to snap inserts INSIDE the diaper.5. Large insert coverage…I’m not sure how to phrase that part. But the flaps inside the diaper for holding the inserts are longer than my other type. This can be a slight downside, but easily remedied. I recommend using a liner that isn’t tucked inside. If not, then poop WILL get on the diaper portion that isn’t easily wiped off and you’ll need a new one.CONS:This really isn’t a bad thing, but thought I would share it anyway1. Poop can get to the diaper inside. If it reaches the back of the diaper, you really can’t just wipe it off and reuse it. You will need to change the diaper to a new one at that change. This can be fixed by using a liner (not insert) that you place on the top of the insert and diaper. Do not tuck it inside the flaps with the insert. These diapers truly are amazing and I recommend them to anyone looking for a good diaper and an affordable price.

Works great after belly button forms.
I have been using these with Snappis over prefolds from a local diaper laundry service steadily for the past 6 weeks and they work great on my baby. As long as the diaper does not peek out above the waistband or through the leg holes to contact the baby or parent’s clothing, nothing leaks, not even a “poosplosion.” The fit adjusts two ways– vertically, for the size of the leg holes, and horizontally, for the size of the waistband. They hold up fine in the washer and dryer so far.The wet bag is great too. It is generously sized for several wet diapers, and I use the smaller compartment (there are 2 sections) for a few clean diapers and wipes so that I don’t have to set the entire diaper bag up wherever I am changing my baby. I bought 2 sets of these covers, so I also have 2 wet bags, and I dump the dirties, move the cleans and wipes to the other one, and wash them as necessary.Neither the covers nor the wet bag have a crinkly, plasticky sound or feel despite being waterproof.A fellow mom in a parent group that I am in recommended using diaper covers over disposables for airplane travel as protection against leaks. The only caveat is that I would not recommend these for a newborn until after the umbilical stub has dropped off and the belly button has healed. I tried using cloth early on and the stub was softening up (it should become dry and hard until it drops off) because of retained moisture until I switched back to disposables, which are made to wick away moisture. This was even though the wet diapers were not in contact with the stub– it seemed to be enough that the moisture was nearby. I do not know if a different design of diaper cover would avoid this effect, although there are newborn covers that dip down in front, which I have not tried.

The fabric touching baby skin is hard and it is irritating baby’s skin as it is rubbing against the skin. Waste of time. Returned.

My SIL gave me her cloth diapers from 15+ years ago but I needed new covers. These have been perfect. They have a ton of snaps so they’re suitable for all sizes and will continue to grow with my son.
