Excellent! Definitely Buy This Unit!
Quite Good! I’m happy to report this Gaoducash Wifi Temperature Sensor performs exactly as expected! I Love It!The only one of its kind in our humble abode, with this unit, i simply ask, “Alexa, what’s the bedroom temperature?” (or i can simply say, “Alexa, Bedroom Temperature”) and my little Echo device promptly replies with confident accuracy. So that’s GOOD!There’s only one tiny little issue. When i visually look at my Alexa app (for iPhone), the only thing i can see is the “Humidity”; no temperature. Early on, I had dinged this review one star for this issue (originally rating it only 4 stars). however, seeing the temperature on my iPhone really ISN’T why i purchased this unit. I bought it so Alexa can verbally “tell” me what the bedroom temp is. And since this feature works just fine – i got no complaints. So with a recent change of heart, i have since upgraded this review to a proper 5-star rating. This Gaoducash two AA batteries (included) which last over a year.Don’t get spooked by that ominous warning, “Frequently returned item”. So long as your phone’s bluetooth is ON during setup – it’s extremely easy. If i had to guess, i think – when this first came out – most people (me included) weren’t as skilled at connecting bluetooth & wifi devices as we are today. So early on, people thought the device wasn’t working, when in reality – we just weren’t used to it yet.In summary – this Gaoducash Wifi Temperature Sensor is an excellent device. Good quality materials, bluetooth connects very easily, affordably priced, works & plays well with my Alexa Echo. I would enthusiastically recommend you buy this product.I was not compensated for this review in any way.

Nice device, but underpowered.
The sensor is easy to set up and it does what it is supposed to do as long as it is within close range of your WiFi transceiver or has little interference to attenuate the signal. The device wants to sign on to WiFi once an hour or when a big change in reading has occurred. The text suggests you can put it in a greenhouse or anywhere indoors, but doesn’t tell you it must be very close to your WiFi so if your greenhouse (like mine) is located outside the house it can’t get a strong signal. This causes extra battery drain when it tries to connect and transmit and many attempts to send its data are lost. The AAA batteries don’t last long under these conditions and my WiFi mesh reports weak signals when it does connect. To cure this, I removed the AAA batteries and wired in an external case containing 2 AA batteries to provide the 3V required and increase the amps and longevity of the batteries. It’s been working fine in my greenhouse for 2 weeks now and my WiFi mesh is still reporting a strong signal. If these don’t last long I may try connecting the device to a pair of C or D cells.I bought a 2-pack of these devices and the second one is in my workshop and is very close to my WiFi mesh extender and is running just fine on the original AAA batteries.I like the graphing software of the app, which is very easy to use.

Stay Away From This Product!
Update: The sensors don’t trigger automations any longer in Smartlife. I have a fan set to turn on if over 75 degrees. It is 80 degrees and fan doesn’t start.Pros:-Small-Easy to pair with Smartlife-InexpensiveCons:-Only devices and outlets that can pair with Smartlife can be used in scenes (automations). You can’t use outlets from apps like Kasa, for example.-Air conditioners have to be able to pair with Smartlife, breaking functionality of the app that comes with the AC.-Temperature doesn’t appear in Google Home for creating automations, so you can’t use it to control the AC.-Reset button for sensor is inside the unit, making it inconvenient to press, and you have to press it after making any change within the app, like switching from Celsius to Fahrenheit.-Temperature settings can’t be even, like 78 or 80, but only close like 77.67 or 80.38 degrees. Just weird. I found it impossible to set my AC to 80 degrees. It was either 79 or 81, regardless of the fraction entered. Who ever heard of an air conditioner that display in hundredths of a degree?-The company wants you to pay additional money in order to use features that should be included and costs them nothing, like getting a notification when the sensor battery level is low. Disgusting practice.
