Good but jury still out-update
Since the baby just started sleeping in the crib I cannot talk about long term but the mattress fit nice and snug in the crib and is easy to lift out to change sheets, which fit nicely form the get go. There is ample support along the edges for when the baby is going to be standing there and the mattress is easy to clean any wetness or other messes off should they occur. My son seems very comfortable when lying on the mattress. I can’t comment on firmness for my son since he barely puts a dent in a pile of cotton when on it but the mattress seems nice and firm to my test. I think for the price it is a great bargain. At the very least you will get a few good years while your child is still growing and putting on weight. I know we want to buy for the long term but to be honest, will we really keep this over 3-4 years? From what I have seen thus far, looks like a great product.I am changing the rating from a four star to five as the mattress has been a perfect fit and must be comfortable as the baby sleeps endlessly on it. Very happy with this purchase.

Good mattress
We purchased this mattress in September 2011 when our first baby was on the way. We use it with a DaVinci Kalani Convertible Crib in Espresso and it fits great.It is a pretty firm mattress. Our baby is now 11 months old and she has been a belly sleeper almost since the day she was born (much to our chagrin in the beginning), and she really seems to like the firmer surface. It’s firm enough that when the baby “drums” her feet on the mattress, you can hear it lound and clear like a snare drum.The outer layer is a bit “plastic-y”, and our baby seems to prefer a slightly thicker bedsheet, presumably for this reason. On that note, it is a fairly thick mattress, so our sheets are a very tight fit (which we like anyway, for safety or whatever). There isn’t really a crinkle sound as the plastic is pretty taut, but there was a slight plastic odor when we first opened the wrapping – you might want to air it out for a day or two before use, if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.One commenter said that the mattress developed an indentation after short-term use with a 10-pound baby. I can’t believe that. Our daughter is now 18 pounds and there isn’t even a dent! Maybe your crib has lousy mattress supports? Our DaVinci has real spring supports, plus we turn the mattress over every time we change the sheets … anyway, we didn’t have this problem.We also saw complaints about this mattress being made by Kolcraft or whatever, and not Sealy. I have no idea. It’s a good mattress, we like it and I don’t really care who made it as long as it works. We recommend this mattress.Overall we are quite satisfied with it and we are about to buy another one for a crib we mean to keep at Grandma’s house.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
The baby hasn’t arrived yet to “test it out”, but the mattress is firm and fits very snugly in my DaVinci Kalani crib. I was very happy with the cost as it seemed all the good mattresses were expensive. This one seems like it will be very durable and is a great quality mattress for a good price. My husband and I are very happy with our choice.Edit: My now-toddler sleeps 12 hours straight every night, so I think she finds this mattress very comfortable! My husband and I are still very happy with our choice. We’re expecting again and will be buying this mattress for the new baby as well!

Good mattress
Great for standard size cribs and toddler beds. Not as firm as I would like. But decent enough for a baby. Seems supportive enough for my eight month old. Hopefully it lasts for a while.

Not firm, but not soft either
I found it somewhat comical in reading the other reviews when some people were saying this mattress is too firm and others saying it’s too soft. Anyway–I found that this mattress is (in my opinion) somewhere in-between (go figure!). I like that it’s thick and has the plastic-like cover already on it. The price was right too. It’s not a firm mattress–my little guy leaves a small indent in it when he sleeps at night, but it’s not too soft either because he’s able to easily roll around and pull to stand at the side of the crib (without the mattress caving in). It fits our crib perfectly–no gaps around the edges (I would tell you the namebrand of the crib except that it’s super old school and has the drop-down sides which are now frowned-upon so not sure how useful that would be to others). I found this mattress to be of good quality and would order another one if needed. Plus, hello!, you can’t go wrong with free returns from Amazon if you decide you don’t like it. Not to mention that it was delivered to my door which is a huge plus. It’s quite difficult to purchase a crib mattress at a local store with a baby in tow only then to try to fit it in your 4-door sedan. No thank you!

Nice firm mattress
I ordered this mattress to replace an older sealy mattress we had used for 4 babies in a row. I’m very happy with the quality of the mattress and it’s firmness. So far the 4 week old has had no complaints on the comfort. Mattress is a standard size and fits perfectly in the crib. I also like that there are no metal grommets on the edge to let air out, and that it is easily wipeable with a Clorox wipe if there is a big accident.

High quality, thick mattress, great!
Excellent mattress! My daughter has slept on this since 3mo – 4years and going. She regularly jumps on the bed and it has held its form. It is thick, sturdy and comfortable. I know because I have to lay on it often. She has wet the bed many times and it was easy to clean, mostly because we use a liner, but the mattress itself has material that you can wipe off. I made the mistake of buying a cheaper mattress for my second child, it is now torn apart (two years later) and has never been as thick and sturdy as this mattress. I am now purchasing this mattress to replace the cheap one for my second kid.
