2 holes in the cover always open
The cover works well and is well made. Installation was about 2 minutes or less. The only downside is there are 4 ports for electrical cords to enter, 2 on the side and 2 on the long side, which is great. However, there are only 2 clear plugs, which mean the there are 2 open ports exposed. Not a problem if you have 2 cords always plugged in. In my case, I only have 1, which means that 1 port is open to the elements, which for me will mean a home for wasps in the spring. 5 stars if it would have come with plugs for all of the holes.

Great Vertical In-Use Box Cover
If I reviewed half the things I buy, I could do nothing else. But this weatherproof duplex box cover is truly top-notch. Although made in China, it is well engineered, sturdily built, and meets current US and Canada electrical code requirements for outdoor use when something is plugged in. (Box covers installed a decade or more ago may not.)IMPORTANT NOTES:(1) It’s for vertical mounting only, because if mounted horizontally, the holes that allow one or two electrical cords to enter would be on the side, allowing water to enter.(2) Don’t try to install this yourself unless you have experience in similar electrical projects and feel confident dealing with mechanical and electrical glitches that can arise during installation.(3) This product is a cover only; you will also need an approved GFCI duplex receptacle.(4) This cover works best when attached to an approved surface-mounted outdoor electrical box. Installing it over a recessed box, especially over an uneven surface such as stucco or siding, may not be weatherproof.All that said, this item is ideal for its intended use. The thick foam gasket and screw holes in the cover and gasket allow six attachment points to a standard outdoor box, ensuring a good seal. (A total of eight screws are provided.) The depth of the cover allows various types of plugs to fit; even a boxy GFCI tester fit inside with the cover closed. The clear front of the cover lets you see any problems inside, for example, a wasp nest.The installation instructions could be clearer, but there are many online videos to help you.

If you have an outdoor plug you need this
Most outdoor plugs don’t have space for cords or any power supplies. This changes that with great ease and just a few seconds of changing it out. Great value for the money, works well, latch is tight, easy to run cords into, depth handles all the transformers I’ve ever used.Highly recommended. One of the best covers I’ve ever used outside. Very dependable.I’m sure there’s a way to lock these but it would be easy to defeat so maybe there isn’t. Luckily in the places I have them the closure is tight enough to keep most people from monkeying with it.

GFCI outdoor outlet cover that can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
I was looking for a horizontal, GFCI outdoor outlet cover locally, no luck. Found this on Amazon and it is perfect! The outlet will be used for a low voltage lighting transformer at our cabin, so needed to weather and critter proof, this is really a nice unit. I also like all the information included about doing things properly, to code. Oh, this unit will also work vertically, so well made and versatile!

They are a bit bigger than I thought they would be but they look very “utility” professional. Keep water out and you can see what’s plugged in . Templates on all the parts have lots of choices for screw holes so it takes a bit of finagling to find the right ones but easy and not a big deal…. Easy to install. And you end up with a bunch of extra screws for that “abyss” container at the end of the workbench!!!! Good choice.
